Among the many areas of research embraced by the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) which can be viewed at the Current Research Areas site, four areas were chosen by the faculty of EECS to be the focus for future investment. They are:

• Communications and Signal Processing
• Information and Systems Assurance
• Intelligent and Complex Systems
• RF/Microwave Electronics and Sensors

Detailed descriptions of each area, including the faculty who contribute to the research subjects carried in those areas, can be viewed by clicking on the corresponding links. The reader will notice that much of the research in these areas is of an interdisciplinary nature and the contributors are faculty from several units of Syracuse University.
