Jorge Luis Romeu, Professor and Researcher 
Jorge Luis Romeu is a Research Professor of Industrial Statistics
and Operations Research with the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering,
Syracuse University .
He is also a Senior Science Advisor with the Reliability Information Analysis Center
(RIAC), formerly known as the
Reliability Analysis Center (RAC), and an independent quality and reliability
Consultant. Romeu teaches courses
in industrial statistics and operations research, for practicing engineers.
Romeu was (1982-85, and 1998-2006) a Senior Research Engineer with
the Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute (IITRI). In between,
Romeu was (1985 to 1998) an Associate Professor of Statistics and Computer Science
with SUNY Cortland Mathematics Department, retiring Emeritus in December of 1998.
He worked as a Sponsored Research Specialist (2011-12)at the SUNY Institute of
Technology (SUNYIT) in Utica NY, And he continues there as an Adjunct Professor
of Management Sciences, in the Dept. of Business.
Romeu is involved in International Education. He created and directs the
Juarez-Lincoln-Marti International Education
Project. He is a writer and
Journalist , involved
in Cuban Affairs.

Romeu holds MS and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research from Syracuse University
(1982 and 1991) and a Mathematical Statistics degree from the University of Havana, Cuba
(1973). Romeu is a Chartered Statistician Fellow of the Royal Statistical Society
and Fellow of the Institute of Statisticians. He is a Senior Member of the American Society,
for Quality, a Full Member of the Operations Research Society of America, and a
member of the American Statistical Association, among other professional associations.
Romeu holds ASQ Quality and Reliability certifications, and the RSS and IOS
